Coaching Tips

  • Focus on landing softly with both feet together, bending the knees to absorb impact.
  • Keep your eyes on the ball throughout the jump and landing, maintaining a flat racket face.

Make it easier

  • Remove the racket and ball—focus just on the forward/backward jumps.

Make it harder

  • Timed challenge: see how many jumps you can complete in 30 seconds without dropping the ball.

Safety

Remember, you can use the STEP framework—Space, Time, Equipment, and People—to adapt any activity, making it easier or more challenging for your players.

Always check there’s enough space for everyone to participate safely, and ensure any under-18s wear protective goggles as needed.
